South East Rods & Customs (SERC) is a group of men and women who formed a classic car club in 2007. Our mission statement is twofold; to enjoy classic cars and form lasting friendships with people of similar interest, while also supporting local philanthropic efforts that help people in need.
Functioning as a Non-Profit Organization, we have donated significant financial and material support to many charities, including Trustbridge (formerly Hospice), Palm Beach County Food Bank, Big Dog Ranch Veteran Dog Training Program and Forgotten Soldiers Outreach. Our fundraising stems primarily from raffles at our car shows and periodic "Quarter Auctions" conducted at local venues.
Such assistance resulted in our club receiving the coveted 2011 Eagle One Golden Rule Award for the Most Outstanding Community Service Program in the Southern Region of the United States.
Our various car activities include informal weekly and monthly cruise-ins as well as hosting three major shows for Valentine's Day, Rodtoberfest and a December Toy Drive. We also have conducted Club Cruises to car themed establishments such as the Elliot Museum in Stuart, FL.
In recent years we have brought our cars to various Senior Assisted Living facilities, taking great satisfaction in watching the residents recall life experiences from their earlier days. Our outreach has also included assistance in the execution of auto related events planned by other service-oriented organizations.
